E-2 running at speed not long after her commissioning, approximately 1912. The location is unknown. There is a square trunk installed over the after battery compartment hatch. This allows that hatch to stay open while running engines, providing a more efficient path for the massive quantities of air needed for the engines. The trunk was temporary in nature and was only put up for extended surface runs.
