N-4

In a photo taken a little later than the one above, N-4 is still alongside at the Lake yard in Bridgeport, late 1917 or early 1918. N-4 is getting close to completion, with a painted hull and superstructure and a completed bridge fairwater. She is sitting high in the water, with one of her torpedo tube outer doors visible above the waterline at the bow. The oblong torpedo loading hatch is open on the foredeck.
O-12 is still inboard of N-4, and also shows some progress towards completion. Compared to the photo above, her bow planes have been installed in a slit in the forward superstructure.
It appears that there is another submarine on the far left on the other side of the fitting out pier. It is likely an O-class boat.
