R-25 seen in drydock with another R-boat. The location is not known for sure, but it is likely the Philadelphia Navy Yard approximately 1920-1923. This photo give a good view of the trademark Lake "shovel" shaped stern with the ventrally mounted propellers, rudder, and stern diving planes. By contrast, the EB design had this equipment axially aligned, at the very end of the hull.
