A view of Sargo's bow taken from her bridge, 1939-1940. There is still a profusion of wires and masts on the forward deck. Improved technology and the urgency of war would eliminate much of this by 1943. There is a crew member on the deck just forward of the square hole on the walking deck. The unusual color of the deck is likely an exposure or photographic development issue. The deck was never painted white. | |||

A view of Sargo's bow taken from her bridge, 1939-1940. There is still a profusion of wires and masts on the forward deck.
