S-9 underway, entering port in Cheefoo (now Yantai), China, summer of 1924. S-9 and her entire Submarine Division 12 was conducting an extended deployment to the Asiatic Fleet area that lasted from 1921 to 1924. Cheefoo was a popular port of call for USN ships and submarines.
