Submarine Qualification Notebooks

When a person volunteered for serving aboard a submarine the first thing they have to do is to become "Qualified Onboard". What this means is all the systems have to be learned and the person has to know function and also know how to operate everything aboard.

This does two things: One; The person now knows how to operate the submarine and all of its equipment. This is important in that crews are small and in an emergency that person may be the closest person to the system and can do what is necessary to keep the submarine safe. Two; it lets the rest of the crew know that the person fully knowledgeable and will know what to do in case of an emergency. It also lets that person know that the rest of the crew has confidence in his abilities.

Running across these notebooks is a pretty rare thing. Pigboats is fortunate in having acquired or acquired copies of three Qualification Notes books.
