Commanding Officer, gifted with many parting Lai's, stands in front of the Conning Tower Fairwater. A Chief Petty Officer is walking past him heading aft.
 
On the front of the Fairwater the emblem for Submarine Squadron 8 can be seen. A large brass/bronze plate is affixed to the fairwater.
